Completed “You Are The Rescuer” (YATR) scenarios for Cycle C. Find this on the NSP home page or on the GVR OEC page.
Money for breakfast and lunch items provided by the Honeoye School International Language group. Menus and prices will be posted on the GVR website a few days before the first refresher.

For those who did not sign up, the areas in “yellow” DESPERATELY need to be filled. Please contact me with your selection.
 
For those of you who did not attend either Instructor Refresher, please contact me as soon as possible.
 
At each region refresher we anticipate approx.150 patrollers. Therefore, each station requires multiple instructors to facilitate multiple set-ups of the lessons. This will allow an efficient flow of patrollers through the stations to maintain a high quality of skills review.

3.      Complete the chapter quizzes and bring your answer sheet. The quizzes and answer sheet will be on the region OEC website within a few days.

4.      You will be asked to sign up to teach at one of the Region Refreshers. Those dates are Saturday 10/16 and Sunday 10/24 at Honeoye High School.

5.      Remember to bring your patrol packs, OEC manuals, paper/pencil for note taking.

6.      Remember to bring your OEC cards so they can be signed.

7.      There will be limited refreshments at each refresher, so plan accordingly for your own personal needs.

8.      The agenda for the Instructor Refreshers will include

a.      A brief intro and agenda review
b.      30 minutes of group Instructor Development training
c.      6 scenario stations that will be 25 minutes in length with 5 minutes for rotation to the next station.

08/09/10 Monday is the First Class at Victor High School
6:30pm-9:30pm

The start date for the OEC class is just one week away!! According to the co-IORs, Cathy Rague and Mark Bowker, we have 25 confirmed candidates from our master list of 38. It is likely that a few more will confirm at the last minute. Attached is an updated OEC Candidate Class Teaching Schedule as of 7/31/10. Please check it carefully for any changes to your assigned dates.

Remember – the Lead instructor (Instructor 1) on the schedule is responsible for preparing the lesson with the teaching team and ensuring all necessary props and materials are brought to class. The IT assigned will assist as needed and will be the “go to” person if you have questions during your preparation or if issues develop during the class.

The schedule will be posted on the region OEC homepage as well as the OEC website. It will be updated as changes are made.

Directions

Don’t forget that the OEC class is in a different location this year! It is at the Victor High School.

The address is 953 High Street, Victor, NY 14564-1195. Google map or Mapquest this address to get your directions.

There are 2 entrances to the campus. South and West. The easiest is to take the West Entrance and follow the signs for the short distance to the Senior High School (on the left). Park in the visitor lot which is right in front of the main entrance. Go through the main entrance and someone will be there to direct you to the Large Instruction Room where all of our classes will be.

Class begins in Victor on Monday August 9 and will end on Wednesday November 10. The time will be 6:30pm-9:30pm. Saturday morning classes begin mid-September at locations TBD. The Final Practical Evaluation will be Saturday November 13 (location TBD).
